Favorite ways to spend family time in AZ: Whether it’s grilling by our pool, catching my son’s high school volleyball match, or attending my daughter’s dance competitions, my favorite moments are the simple ones we almost didn’t plan.
A moment in motherhood that has really shaped you: Watching my children push through the hard things and choose not to quit. Those are the moments that have made me realize that my job isn’t to smooth every path; it is to make sure they believe in themselves enough to walk it.
Three words your kids would use to describe you: I actually asked them in our family group chat and now I’m crying. They said loving, inspiring, and selfless. I don’t think I’ll ever recover from that.
Biggest challenge as a mom: Learning to be fully present at home when I have a career I’m also passionate about. The guilt is real, but so is the example I’m setting. I want my kids to see what it looks like to work hard and love what you do. I want them to see how hard work and passion have a way of paying off in ways you never expect.
A mother who inspires you and why: My own mom. Not because she does everything perfectly, but because she never pretends that she does. She has shown me that strength and softness can coexist, and her steady, unconditional presence has shaped everything I know about love.
Biggest hope for your children: That they grow up to be truly good humans. That they never question their self-worth or feel like they have to make themselves smaller for anyone. Confidence and kindness, if they carry those two things through life, I’ll know I did my job.
How are you celebrating Mother’s Day? Hopefully, a slow start. Then, I am envisioning church as a family, followed by relaxation and a little well-earned pampering, a tradition I hope never changes.
