As P.B. Bell proudly marks 50 years of building communities across Arizona, the company is making sure this milestone year is about more than celebration — it’s about giving back. As part of its “50 Ways We Show We Care” initiative, P.B. Bell recently wrapped up a meaningful three-day volunteer event with UMOM, Arizona’s largest provider of services for families and single women experiencing homelessness in Phoenix.
To honor its 50th anniversary, P.B. Bell launched “50 Ways We Show We Care,” a year-long initiative dedicated to volunteering and charitable giving across Arizona. From stocking shelter supplies to supporting local nonprofits, P.B. Bell team members are finding meaningful ways to give back to the communities they serve throughout this golden anniversary year.
UMOM’s mission is straightforward but profound: end homelessness by providing stability and independence. Through emergency shelters, job training, onsite childcare, case management, career development, and over 900 units of affordable housing in the Phoenix area, UMOM meets people where they are and helps them build a path forward.
P.B. Bell has long supported UMOM’s work, and this February’s volunteer event gave team members a new opportunity to engage with the organization’s impact firsthand — rolling up their sleeves and getting to work on UMOM’s New Day Center campus.
On February 17th, 18th, and 19th, P.B. Bell volunteers showed up ready to work at UMOM’s New Day Center in Phoenix. Team members chose between two impactful tasks:
Clothing Closet Restock — Volunteers helped hang clothing and stock shoes for UMOM’s Threads of Hope Closet, which provides gently used clothing to families in need. For many residents, this closet is a vital resource — offering dignified, practical clothing as they work toward greater stability.
Towel, Linen & Tableware Kit-Building — Other volunteers assembled essential kits stocked with hygiene products, housing supplies, and cleaning essentials. These kits help families transition into their own spaces with the basic tools they need to feel at home.
Together, the P.B. Bell team stocked shelves and built kits that will make a real, tangible difference for the families UMOM serves every day in the Phoenix community. Watch us in action on Instagram.
