P.B. Bell’s Partners with HopeKids for Annual Year-End Celebration

P.B. Bell strives to make a meaningful impact in our local community, and one way we do so is through our charitable giving.

At our annual year-end celebration on Dec. 12, P.B. Bell is benefiting HopeKids. Learn more about HopeKids and why it was chosen as this year’s beneficiary for P.B. Bell in the Q&A below!

What is HopeKids, and who does its mission serve?

HopeKids is an inspiring organization that offers an ongoing program of fun events for families who have children with life-threatening medical conditions. These events foster quality time in safe, accepting environments alongside other families experiencing similar challenges. Through donations, it can offer these events for free.

What are some examples of the types of events that HopeKids offers the children it helps?

HopeKids provides a calendar of free events that these families can attend. Just a few examples include concerts, live theater, movies, sporting events, a visit to the zoo, and a trip to the state fair. There have also been opportunities for families to meet star athletes.

Also, HopeKids also offers its signature event: Week of Hope.  Held each September at Flathead Lake Lodge in Montana, this all-expenses-paid retreat gives families the opportunity to enjoy authentic Western hospitality with horseback riding, sailing, adaptive water sports, clay shooting, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, and so much more. It’s a week of adventure, relaxation, and cherished time together on a vacation they will never forget.

How does ‘hope’ play an integral role in healing?

Numerous studies show that hope can increase one’s overall ability to cope, and that familial support for chronically ill children is vital. HopeKids believes hope is a powerful medicine, and offers families positive environments that foster fun, community engagement and optimism.

Why was HopeKids selected as this year’s beneficiary?

Each year, all P.B. Bell employees cast their vote from a list of nonprofits to support – and this year, HopeKids won that vote!

Nicole Steltenpohl, P.B. Bell’s Chief Human Resources Officer, began volunteering with HopeKids in 2017, and after attending one of their fundraising events, Boots and Bling, she was deeply inspired by the spirit and resilience of the children and families they support. She said their ability to find joy and hope amid incredibly challenging circumstances, and the role HopeKids plays in nurturing that spirit, has stayed with her ever since.

In addition to this original connection point, the nonprofit’s mission aligns with P.B. Bell’s dedication to helping families across the Phoenix Metro Area and beyond.

What does it mean to P.B. Bell to give back to the community?

One of our core values is “Show You Care,” so it’s important we support our community in any way we can. Whether it’s clothing or food drives, community clean-ups or charitable donations, we vow to put our best efforts into making our communities a better place for everyone.

How is P.B. Bell collecting donations for HopeKids?

As part of its annual year-end celebration, employees will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting HopeKids. These raffle tickets will be for fun prizes, including gift cards, electronics, entertainment/travel experiences, themed prize baskets, and other exciting items.
