Day in the Life of Colby Weadock, a Project Manager at P.B. Bell

To ensure that a project is maximized and completed on time and under budget, you must have an exceptional project manager. At P.B. Bell, our developers look at every project and multifamily community individually, tailoring each project and service to provide the very best for each location and target market. Each development has a unique design and every community has its own story. Our development team, affiliated contractors, and in-house project management group work together from beginning to end of every new construction project.

Meet Colby Weadock, project manager for P.B. Bell. Colby has been a part of the P.B. Bell team for many years, and proudly shares his favorite memories with the company and what he enjoys doing outside of work.

How long have you been working at P.B. Bell?

I joined the P.B. Bell family in 2014 as the leasing manager of Tuscany Palm. I worked with property management from 2014-2019 and then transitioned to development full time in 2019, and have been here ever since.

What does a typical day for you look like?

A typical day for me includes a lot of meetings either via Zoom or in person, and quite a bit of time on the computer and/or phone communicating with architects, civil engineers, general contractors, etc. Some days you might find me onsite at our projects that are under construction for owner/architect/contractor meetings or checking on the progress and seeing if there’s anything that needs my attention or assistance. My days are usually most focused on schedules and budgets and I also enjoy the creative side where I get to provide input on potential unit finishes and discuss unique amenity ideas.

What is a favorite memory from working at P.B. Bell?

My favorite memory would probably be the day we finally got my first development project opened up. There were many challenges we had to overcome along the way and to finally see the finished product was very special for me.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I really enjoy the creative side of my job and thinking of new ways to make our communities unique and a place everyone would love to call home.

What is a fun fact about you?

I love to golf and the first time I ever golfed with our CEO Chapin Bell and COO Justin Steltenpohl, I hit a hole-in-one at Troon North. It was my first hole-in-one and I couldn’t believe I got it with my CEO and COO present!

What kind of community/volunteer activities do you take part in?

I’ve helped package meals at St. Mary’s Food Bank and that was a great experience. P.B. Bell is always looking for ways to give back and offer a helping hand in the local community and I try to participate in those volunteer opportunities whenever possible.

What is your favorite thing to do in Arizona?

My favorite things to do are golf and spending time with my family. I have a two-year-old boy who will absolutely be learning golf when the time is right.

What is your favorite restaurant to eat at in the area?

My family used to eat at Teakwoods Tavern every Thursday growing up and I love everything on their menu. Their wings are my favorite. It’s definitely not a fancy restaurant but it’s one of my favorites.

What is your life motto or words to live by?

Everything you want is on the other side of fear. I think we can get comfortable in certain situations or positions and the fear of change or the fear of failure can really hold you back from reaching your true potential. The moment I decided I wasn’t going to fear change or failure was the moment I really started to grow.

Thank you Colby for sharing your story with us and for being such a great addition to the P.B. Bell team! Your energy and passion for project development are appreciated at P.B. Bell!
