    • Flagstaff’s high-temperature averages in the mid to high 60 degrees during the month of May, which makes it an excellent escape from the heat. Flagstaff is just a two-hour drive north from Phoenix, making it one of the best day trips in Arizona. As the home of Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff offers a college town vibe with many delicious local restaurants and breweries. After grabbing a bite to eat, visitors can adventure out in the mountains on one of many hikes in the area.
