A Day in the Life of a Senior Property Accountant

The everyday operations of a multifamily management firm like P.B. Bell would not be made possible without the dedication and hard work of our accounting team. With a strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, our accounting team works diligently to ensure that everything runs smoothly, numbers are recorded accurately and the financials are captured so that we can continue to do the work that we love to do.

Meet Laura Pulli — P.B. Bell’s senior property accountant. Laura has been a part of the P.B. Bell team for more than four years now. Learn more about her and her role here:

What does a typical day for you look like?

I spend a lot of time on my computer! However, the time of the month and the deadlines we are working on have a great impact on what my day will look like so no two days are the same. In general, my role entails making sure that all financials are recorded correctly so that we have an accurate picture of what that month looked like. This also includes working with our software and reconciling information to outside sources to guarantee everything is correct.

What is a favorite memory from working at P.B. Bell?

Although I have fun with my coworkers on a daily basis, I love all of our company  parties. An especially fond memory of mine is one of the holiday parties that was held at Rustler’s Rooste. It was a great outdoor venue with a very relaxed atmosphere and fantastic food. Since I work in the corporate office, I don’t get out as much as I would if I was working at a community. I email people on our team frequently and build relationships that way, but it’s great to meet them in person and create fun memories together.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I really enjoy seeing the final product. I’ve always had an interest in real estate and I find it really interesting to see the financials and pick up on industry trends that way — it gives you a sneak peek into what is happening in the market. Due to the fact that we have a wide array of communities across the Valley, you can get a great snapshot of what is happening in the multifamily market. Additionally, I really love finding little mysteries and correcting things that need to be fixed.

What is one fun fact about you?

My family has a long history here in Arizona. I’m actually a second generation Arizona native! My grandfather was involved in building hotels in downtown Phoenix and the radio towers on South Mountain. My great-great grandfather was also on the Arizona State Legislature.

What is your favorite thing to do in Arizona?

My favorite thing to do in Arizona is hike. I moved to California for a bit but when I moved back, I had a newfound appreciation for the desert and how beautiful it is. I currently live in Fountain Hills and my favorite hike is the Fountain Lake Overlook Loop Trail — it is a great place to walk my dog and I never grow tired of the scenery.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

I really enjoy all forms of live entertainment. I love to watch plays and musicals — my personal favorite right now is Hamilton! When it was added to Disney+, I watched that musical over and over again — I’m so amazed by the music and the talent of the cast. I saw it live once at ASU Gammage but my new goal is to watch it live on Broadway in New York City.

What is your life motto?

I try to inject humor into everything! Humor can help me get through anything. Whether something is hard or I just want to break up the monotony of routines, I use humor to add a little extra fun into everyday life.

Laura, thank you for adding vibrance and light to our team! We are incredibly grateful for hard work, dedication and uplifting spirit.
