2020 is finally here and with the New Year comes countless opportunities to explore all the different restaurants, top destinations and attractions that the Valley has to offer. If one of your New Year’s resolutions includes trying new places and things but you don’t know where to start, don’t fret. Whether you’re with family, friends or just want to enjoy the day solo — here are our top five places to try out this New Year, if you haven’t had the chance to yet: 

Medieval Times 

You don’t have to be royalty to dine like a king. Topo 

This roadside restaurant is a must-try for those exploring Gilbert’s Heritage District. Topped with a giant gopher, Topo features a tasty selection of burritos, street corn and soft serve. Feel like trying something new? Try the prickly pear soft serve — you will not be disappointed.   

Lost Dog Wash Trail at McDowell Mountains

If one of your New Year’s Resolutions includes going on more hikes, be sure to check the Lost Dog Wash Trail off of your list. Located near Scottsdale, this award-winning trailhead offers a variety of shorter and easier trails that allow hikers to explore the natural desert wash and its surroundings. To top it off, the wash attracts an abundance of desert wildlife so be sure to bring binoculars and keep your eyes peeled for a variety of birds, javelina, coyotes and more.
